Glazes poured by hand are a field that designer Stefanie Hering greatly appreciates when it comes to creating completely new and innovative porcelain decors. The "Silent Brass" collection is a particularly elegant variation of this type of decor developed by Hering Berlin: It looks as if plates and bowls have been poured over with liquid metal. In reality, the secret is based on a glaze with ground basalt, which is poured out separately by hand in each object, attaches itself to the surfaces in different ways and thus makes each individual piece absolutely unique. Designed as a counterpoint to the Piqueur décor, Silent Brass has long been an indispensable element in the Berlin porcelain manufacturer's "mix and match" range. The décor, described by a top chef as "champagne glaze", for example, forms a perfect complement to pieces from the Polite Gold Collection or refines tableware made of pure white porcelain from Hering Berlin.
