Monolith with lanterns A massive twelve-kilo block of cast iron forms the basis of this sculptural object by Stefanie Hering. The material presents itself as angular and pure, with unsmoothed, coarse-pored surfaces, to which the fine biscuit porcelain of the embedded lanterns provides a charming contrast. Stefanie Hering deliberately chose a decorative technique that she developed herself and that uses another historical material as an aid: shellac. Unique, in a limited edition of 10 pieces
